Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, while delivering his judgement on same-sex marriage, said that the Centre should form a committee headed by the Cabinet Secretary to look into rights and entitlements of persons in queer unions. “The committee shall consider the possibility of queer couples having ration cards, rights flowing from pension and gratuity, insurance facilities,” he added.
